Flowchart would make it easier for me to program ham radios

Ham radios keep getting smaller, more powerful, and more sophisticated... problem is I'm primarily a visual thinker, and I end up having to decipher the (verbal) instruction manual and translate them into my own flowcharts on note paper just to understand the sequences, modes, etc etc for making the radio do the simplest things.

A friend of mine who is also a radio ham and is also on the ASD spectrum happens to be a programmer (he actually holds a license from Apple to write apps) asked me if I'd want to see ham radio manuals in flowchart form, pdf format... and I told him YES, that would eliminate a lot of time and frustration for me.

Anyone else have similar visual/verbal barriers?

Are you talking about VHF/UHF "handie talkies"? If so, there's lots of computer programs that you can use to program them, such as Chirp. Just get a USB to HT cable, install the programming software, plug your HT into your PC, then program it. Some of the Chinese HTs like the Wouxun (and the Baofeng UV-B5 which is apparently a stripped down Wouxun) are so bizarrely set up that it's nearly impossible to program them with the tiny little keypad. I hate the whole menu system on Chinese HTs where you have to scroll through 20 commands to get to where you want.
