Hey guys
I'm considering buying a new laptop after having had the same one for six years, and having had to make do with an old GPU for gaming (I game on my laptop primarily and have done since I bought the thing). I've been limited to old games for quite some time now and there have recently been released - some laptops that fit the specification I require (a decent gaming rig with a 120hz screen).
120hz is key for me since my sensory sensitivity gives me eye fatigue/headaches/bluriness with lower refresh rates, despite having been assured by other people that people can't tell the difference at refresh rates lower than 120hz (I certainly can)!
Anyways, the laptop I am looking to buy is a 'HP OMEN 15-ce019na' and it will come pre-installed with Windows 10. I want to install Windows 8.1 on it however. Will I run into driver issues doing this that are worth noting?
Thanks in advance.
Well, I ended up trying to install Windows 8.1 and it was successful until I started updating it with all the latest updates, and then it tried updating the GPU drivers automatically and gave me some insurmountable error that resulted in a Windows corruption/meltdown of sorts.
So I'm now running Windows 10 with a program to bring the old start menu from Windows 7 back. Long live Windows 7 style desktop interfaces! Windows 10 is like a really smart, garish thing, with the former being good in my opinion and the latter overstated.
