Overall, I hate medical quackery for some very personal reasons. Lots of people have died because of medical quackery. My dad almost died when I was 10 because he refused to get proper medicine. We need to be more trusting of people who have devoted their whole lives to the study of the human body and its cellular components.
Also, many medical quacks love to screw over people on the autistic spectrum. I find that to be sick and twisted. It seems like everyone and their dog has a new "cure for autism" every day of the week.
Here are some things to be wary of:
- Don't trust anyone who talks about a "new medical miracle". That's emotionally manipulative language right there. Evidence-based professionals don't do that.
- Don't trust anyone who rants about "big pharma" … but wants your money. It's blatantly hypocritical to criticize the pharma industry … as you make money in a similar fashion.
- Be wary of anything that can supposedly cure everything. There is nothing that can cure everything.
