I have received a written PDF document created on Word.docx (Mac).

I want to highlight certain parts in colour, and make a few changes or edits. I can't do it because it is PDF.

Does anyone know to do this?

It's usually possible to convert a PDF into a word document, which can then be edited and/or modified in Word (and reconverted to PDF, if you really want to). It puzzles me that anyone would want to be secretive about this!

I never did figure out how to put the PDF back into a Word file. I wanted to highlight / edit with colour onto the original PDF rather than rewriting it. The choices seemed to be editing in Preview mode, or using IPhoto to insert text boxes onto the PDF. It took some fiddling and I can't remember how I did it, exactly, but it finally worked.

You should “write down the steps” as you’re doing them.

Secretive ?

Maybe it's because we work for the same secret agency who shut down the Chandler & Macleod on line test :P

You can use LibreOffice Draw to edit a PDF document.

Thank you so much, Soliloquist! I can't wait to try it!

No, it isn't typically possible to faithfully convert a general PDF file to a OOXML document in any meaningful sense.

(e.g., try doing that with a typical LaTeX-generated PDF)
