I'm using dreamweaver, and everything was totally hokey-pokey til just a minute ago. I made a layer, which I intended to write in, and placed it above another layer with writing in it. I type a letter, and then it jumps down to the bottom of the layer underneath, and puts the ... you know, that line that shows where you're typing, at the bottom of that layer. WAHHHH!! ! What's happening?

and I'll just add that it continues to type, but when it keeps bloody flicking down the page like that it makes it damn hard to see what I'm typing. it's a bloody nuisance!

I have never used dreamweaver, but could it be that you hit something like the 'insert' key on your keyboard and that is causing the problem?

I never use layers in Dreamweaver, they tend to not read well in various browsers. Convert your layers to tables and carry on from there.
