I’m using Internet Explorer 7, which has a feature where if you click on a link with the wheel button on the mouse, it opens the link in another tab in the same window. My problem is when I click the wheel button, it sometimes opens two or three tabs instead of one. Is that a problem with my mouse or my computer? And how do I fix either one?

Thanks for the help :)

I'll try to get another mouse, and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks

Have you tried Firefox? It has the same feature and therefore if it's a mouse problem, it'll do it in Firefox too.

Besides, Firefox is a much better browser...

Never really been a fan of IE. FF all the way.

From the sound of it you maybe accidentally clicking the middle button multiple times ( or the sensor that reads when its pushed down is way to sensitive) and its reading it as such.

Try a new mouse

also you may be rolling the wheel while clicking it and that may be the prob. don't have access to IE7 atm but would be something to look into.

I tested rolling the wheel while clicking. Rolling the wheel while clicking actually improved the problem a bit... but not much.

I've never tried FF before, but I've got it on my computer, so I might as well give it a shot.

EDIT: I've been using FF for about 5 minutes and I already think it's a hundred times better than IE :D
