Kismet at MIT

And, in the "Broader Questions" Section of the site:

MIT wrote:
Work on developing Kismet raises questions about:
Self identity
Theory of mind
Autobiographical memory
Recognition of self, other, and conspecifics
Social learning (esp. imitation)
Intentionality
Emotion
Empathy
Personality
Friendship
Ethics
And that's all we have to say for the moment.

What, you were expecting ... answers?

I went to see Kismet at the MIT museum when I visited Boston recently, and it is so much bigger than I expected. I absolutely loved it, but it was rather depressing to see that it wasn't functioning. I remember reading somewhere that MIT has robots you can interact with, and I thought Kismet was among them. I suppose those must be at the Media Lab.

I just thought you guys might enjoy it, too.

I'm sorry you're unable to enjoy the treasure of an institution that MIT is.
