I'm sorry I have no information on that, the only version of Fre BSD that I've used is BSDeviant, which is a Live boot Distro. That was pretty cool, though.

Where did you get that LiveCD Distro of BSDeviant?

I tried FreeBSD once and couldn't get X configured so all I could do was the command prompt which utterly sucked. I might try it again at some point, but not until I am assured it will detect my hardware automatically.

Damnit! They pulled the website down again. Used to be:

bsdeviant.unixpunx.org

You might want to check back in a few months, they went offline for about three months last December. Theres a Wiki on the project though, It contains a few details on it.

I tried FreeBSD 5.4 recently, and had problems with X also insomuch as the wizards in the install failed to detect my hardware properly so it looked like crap. This was not a problem with NetBSD - I was able to correctly configure X etc but by the time I had finished manually setting up scripts I couldnt be bothered any more - I guess I'm not leet enough to prefer doing it ALL myself. :P I might try a live one like FreeSBIE, but to be honest I'm quite happy with Linux for now.

There is also a BSD distro I found out about on distrowatch called "PC BSD" which aims to be a user friendly BSD variant for the desktop. Look it up if you're interested. :)

Thanks chaps. Think I'll wait until the non-beta then.
I tried the PC-BSD version early this year(Or late last maybe) and didn't take to it. Great idea though.
