It has been broken since August, I left it, and through readings and downloading many freeware, I've managed to successfully sync my songs back onto my iPod.

A productive weekend if I say so myself.

Thanks to MusicBridge and XPlay.

Mind you, I have doubts if it might break again, because me and technology don't get on very well. ;)

My Creative Zen broke and died and isn't going to fix at all... so I had to send it back to the manufacturer. Thank goodness for extended shop warranties. ;)

Alternative,
when say sync...does that mean anything like when it wont' add songs as anything other than track 1,track 1 track 1 etc. rather than their correct names?
Dad has that problem with his Ipod,am don't know what to do with the thing as find itunes too complicated to work anything out/what to do and have never used ipods before.

One good thing about iPod, if it breaks they are popular enough that you can find self-servicing information.

MANY needed repair parts, and the knowledge to replace them, are available, too.

I was able to rest a bit more easy a few months ago when I leaned that replacement hard drives are available for my beloved 3rd-Gen iPod and that they can even be upgraded (ie, from its present 15 Gigs up to 20 or, if I'm lucky, even 30). It is now 4 years old, working just fine and I have had an ongoing mortal fear of its HD dieing for the past couple of years or so.

I also successfully changed out its battery about a year ago.

:-D

Yup. My doubts are correct.

I want to try and sync music to my iPod and onto another computer, so the 1st computer can be freed up of 20gb, and the computer I've tried transferring my music to has PLENTY of GBs to store my music.

Problem is syncing's fooked up. Cannot sync songs on iPod to the second better computer. I've tried all sorts of hacks and that, but...nothing doing.

I don't wanna download all my music again, and I don't wanna get a new iPod. I want to hold on to this iPod for another year or 2, so when I go to collage, I can buy a new one for myself.

Help?

I guess no-one can help. Ok.

Although, I'm slowly getting there by using Floola and adding 1 artist at a time rather than crashing my iPod by adding all of them at once, oh no that's too complicated for my iPod.

have you tried copypod? I think its called copytrans now www.copytrans.com that can be used to both backup your itunes library and copy stuff back on and repair the itunes library.

Yeah. I tried copypod, and that didn't work.

Floola's doing fine, and I'm slowly syncing my music from computer 1 to computer 2.

The only 2 flaws I've seen in Floola is that the artwork gets fooked (I'll sort that out later), and I can only upload and copy artists to computer 2 slowly but surely.

I'm up to P for Plastikman on my list of music.

I'm doing pretty well. :D

My iPod's broken again.

It's my fault, I know, but before I wiped all my music it kept crashing and needed that "so called precious" cold reboot.

I wanna keep my iPod until I have enough money to afford another one.

Help?

No need.

I've once again fixed it. :D

Let's hope it can stay that way until I have enough money for a new one. ;) :)

Back up that Ipod to a DVD so that if it decides to go down you can quickly restore your library. (The iPod Control folder which is hidden contains all you need).
