hi hi,
hope everyone is good and ready for a relaxing weekend.

Here's a little niggling thing I was wondering about and hope someone out there can help understand it.

If I have my computer on before my router is turned on, I cant renew the adapter (using winipcfg) unless I restart.
Normally the router would be on and I would start up the computer and it gets a connection straight away.
I have win98se and on board LAN
Any ideas?
thanks
z

  1. Go to Start:Run
  2. Type in
    Code:
    winipcfg /renew
    and hit Enter.

I had a similar problem with an ME Machine. I`ll just make sure all Ethernet connections areb enabled in the BIOS and your router is at default settings. Speaking about Windows 98/ME try this Program out if you want better performence and speed. If you use the Chubby Options you can get great speed [Like Windows 95.] stabilty and all that 98SE program compatibilty.

Thanks everyone for your help.I will probably try all those solutions as I get a bit silly sometimes over one stupid thing.
