I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but for a few months I've been having this weird problem with my computer monitor, a Dell E193FP, where when Windows XP starts, it starts flickering madly, although it goes away after maybe one or two hours. Has anyone else experienced similar problems and know how to resolve it?

I don't know exactly what it is, could just be your monitor's going bad, but here are some things to check:

1. Video card/drivers

2. Refresh rate set too low?

3. Overheating? Make sure you have good airflow in your case and that your fans are working. If you overclock, maybe try re-setting to default values.

4. Anything causing interference?

well, I'm afraid they just covered all the likely suspects...;) Check your power as well, maybe your strip might be going. Another thing I've seen is if you have a monitor too close to a high voltage source (I used to fix PCs in a nuclear plant, and it's more prevalent there). Try moving the monitor a foot or two in one direction...but only if the previous posts don't do it for you.
