Different language in XP SP2

If I have a Windows XP install in the language X and decide to install the Service Pack 2 (the full executable from MS download center) in language Y, will it install?

In other words: is it possible to install SP2 in English on a XP installation in other language?

I need to know for sure cuz I don't want to waste a 258 MB download ;)

hmm...haven't done anything like that since I accidentally installed a German installation of Windows 3.1.. I think I had to reinstall it. I don't know, but I bet there's plenty of forums that could answer that. Even Microsoft. Now, getting an answer for free...that might take some doing...
