Do most of you guys use beta software instead of waiting?

I usually always use beta software instead of using the latest stable release. Beta software is usually always stable enough for my liking. I only stay away from software that is in the Alpha phase.



Here is all the software I have installed that is in beta:

Emule 0.49a Beta 1
Foobar2000 0.9.5.2 beta 2
Google Earth 4.3.7191.6508 (beta)
Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Beta 5
Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1
Openoffice 3.0.0 Beta
Utorrent 1.8 Beta



If you are using any of the beta versions of the software I mentioned above let me know. All of those mentioned programs seem to be running smoothly for me except for Utorrent. It crashed on me once (I've never had Utorrent crash on me in 3 years) this could be because it's still in beta, but I'm not sure.

I use to, but I just got tired of how buggy some of the software is, its not worth the time to debug it unless your into that sort of thing, I am not even going to touch Windows Vista, it runs like its still in beta, and it is worse then Windows Me ever was.

I almost always wait for the final releases. Alpha and beta softwares make me suspicious. I do use Opera 9.5 beta and Debian-testing, though.

I usually wait for the final release, one exception is Firefox 3 beta 5.
