Help with pico in Mac OS X Terminal

I'm been able to pull up pico (the UNIX text editor) in Mac OS X's Terminal, but I don't understand how to use those shortcuts at the bottom the window.
How do you use them?

Nevermind, I just found out the shortcuts.
CTRL and the corrosponding letter, eaqualing CTRL-G or ^G etc.
