My laptop is broken, I want to buy a new one, I have an iPad, but laptop is better for me. My question is, does laptop look like an iPad now? I don't know if all laptops have apps. I don't keep up with the lasted technology.

If you want a decent laptop thats not bleeding edge but functions as a very good text preparation and web browsing system, get a used thinkpad. This is pretty accurate.

I am posting from a Thinkpad T430 right now, its pretty decent from every stand point except gaming and you can even do that up to say the last 6-7 years. I don't picture you being a gamer so I can honestly say the only slow down your probably notice is those threads in random with dozens of youtube links.

Also to expand on what I said here, I would go for a thinkpad with an i5 at least. I am on an i5 and I wouldn't want it much slower but it doesn't need to be much faster. Its seem the i5 a good trade off for running quietly and running fast. Fan noise is a thing with a thinkpad but you can't hear it even at max if there is any kind of ambient noise in the background, light hum in silence. An i7 is probably over kill for basic needs but if you don't need consistent up to date graphics, if you were to get an i7, it'll probably last you a very long time.

Thinkpads are awesome! You can basically abuse them all you want and they keep on working. Even just a Core i3 and 4 GB of RAM is good enough.

Every laptop that has a copy of Microsoft Windows will have access to Microsoft applications via the Store, the apps might differ from the iPad as some apps are exclusive to Apple. Microsoft Windows will benefit from the support of many third party applications and provide compatibility with many more applications over the iOS platform.

The thinkpad can be a great value option but if you are looking for something that is flexible and versatile in design, I recommend the Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

I find it hard to trust the company that put Superfish on their consumer products.

They may not have done it to Thinkpads, but the judgment displayed by Lenovo was shockingly bad.
