I'll have to check on the popup blocker, since I am on another PC now. But my infected PC has Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer. Not the best combination, I know. I also have an all-purpose security program called McAfee. It's supposed to do virus scan and removal, firewall, and computer maintenance, but it somehow can't remove the trojan. But it DID tell me what i've got: its called Vundo, and it's the number 8 ranked computer virus in the world. No wonder I can't do $#!+ to get rid of it...

I've just fixed my PC of spyware, and the SmitFraud Virus.

All I suggest you can do, is run Ad-Aware, keep AdWatch on at all times, then after running Ad-Aware, run AVG. Then download CCleaner, and at some point, you will clean up all the crap so you can turn on Automatic Updates again. You will also need to reset your Internet Explorer Browser, or downgrade.

I'm currently on IE6, as the cookies f****d up because of all this spyware s**t. :)

Hope this works out.

You are most likely using Intenet Explorer. I would ditch it and get this

Mozilla Firefox- www.mozilla.com/firefox/

About the Antivirus. Ditch what you have and get this

Avast Antivirus Home- www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Spyware can be taken care of by Windows Defender and SuperAntispyware.

Windows Defender- www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winf ... fault.mspx
SuperAntispyware- www.superantispyware.com/download.html

You can also get Add-Ons for firefox like Ad-Blocker. If you need help with the avast registration let me know. All programs right here are free for your use.

The only problem I have now, is that Cookies keep resetting themselves to "Allow All Cookies", and that the Security level resets to Custom every time I close IE Browser.

The occasional spyware pop-up comes as well, and yet another problem I keep getting is that "explorer.exe" keeps shutting down, but with my clever PC skills I run that task again, if it doesn't reboot itself.
