I got bored and decided to install the Safari Browser on my computer. I still use firefox 99% of the time but was wondering the pros and cons of safari.

Why? Safari is a Mac browser. It's meant to be run within OSX, and even there it can't really compete with Firefox.

All I know about it is that on the iPod Touch and iPhone it is a very buggy application causing more frequent crashes than any other browser I've ever used, or any other application on the device for that matter. And that on my PC it keeps trying to install itself via popup menus like some nasty piece of adware because I have iTunes on my computer.

Even buggy on Mac OS X
But then it's another toy to play with

Really? I never had any trouble with it, so this comes as a surprise. Even so, Firefox is better.

tried it out and hated it. It's the first Apple software to run on my computer and it will be the last.

I have Safari, but it is only for getting news and updates for my iTunes account and my iPhone.
And of course I have Safari on my iPhone.

Yeah, I saw the option to install it, but never bothered - it just doesn't do anything better than Firefox IMHO.

Safari is just too proprietory in my opinion. It seems like its using its own coding language that is usually not standard with other browsers. I also hate the fact that it tries to spell-check everything. Better than IE but still.

Please don't use Safari or IE. It's like walking through Defcon with a "screw me!" sign on your back. Firefox3 with noscript is a minimum, really.
