yes, sure. you'll find enough games for it to nonstop play the next 100 years if you want to.
I played FreeCiv against my brother quite a lot.
It's only the new games with high end graphics that you won't get.
Linux games won't have that gfx quality. But for me most are good enough. if the game is fun, I don't care if I get realistic reflections on the surface of a car or something.
With some of the games you have to be lucky though, to get them run with your gfx board/driver combination.
