Here is an update! I used my laptop for a while even if the speakers and power buttons were not functioning. I would turn it on by touching the quickplay button. i would then enter windows from quickplay. 2 weeks ago, the laptop crashed and i was no longer able to go to windows via quickplay.

i finally took the laptop to a repair shop. the piece of hardware where the power button and speakers connect had burned. The AC jack was not loose as we all believed.

it cost me a total of 130$ to backup my files, restore the computer, reinstall my files, and change the power button.

I am happy to say that my computer works perfectly again. i hope i'll be able to use it for a while, a least long enough for me to save for a new one. it won't be an HP, i have talked to many who have had similar problems...

Ah interesting but then again taking it apart to see the problem is not a bad thing especially if the warranty is gone. I have an HP Laptop from Costco & they give a 2 year warranty on their computers
