We have Verizon FiOS.
It is all fiber optic and its fast no matter how many people are on in your area. Cable broadband varies with speed depending how many people are on in your area. We have had three people on the internet in our house with no slowdown. It is also rated the best service in Consumer Reports.
same here, fibor optic fios. best thing since sliced bread. i upgraded from dsl service to this because when i had dsl not only was i resetting the modem multiple times a day eventually got to point were i acutally saved the IP address as a favorite in browser. i also had to try to talk some sense into the asians that answer the phone (Verizon dialup and dsl outsource their help) ever since getting fios i have had an american answer and biggest issue so far was the once in a while amber globe icon (turn off modem and wait a minute and turn it back on. i pretty much now take care of things first and at last resort i call for help. least with fios i get an american that speaks english, and moderately knoalageable in computers. i like the fact too that they sometimes do talk about vintage computing and share their stories they have had with old or currant computers (geek to geek speak) or exchange advice on programs and problems depending on the customer's knowlage level (they can almost tell by grammer usage) that beats getting asked to have my parents call
the only downsides of fios, is that for security systems such as brinks, ADT and sloman's sheild you need to have a copper phone line to connect to the call center. another downside is when power goes out you only have 5 or 6 hours of phone use (it runs off a battery like found in them powerwheels ride on toy cars kids drive in).
