If you use a smartphone or mobile computer what input method do you prefer?
Is one brand or model's implementation superior?

If you want to comment what the model of the phone is that would be interesting too.

EDIT: Edited to add that I hate touch screens. I use a QWERTY keyboard and trackball. I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 that I use all day every day. It is my computer.

I use a touch screen. I have an iPhone 3G and the touch screen is always in the locked condition until I am ready to use it.

I own a Vodafone v1620 (aka HTC BlueAngel)

This device has a touchscreen AND qwerty keyboard, I use the keyboard for text and phone number input, the touchscreen for most other operations, so have a preference to do things that way

I recently installed Windows Mobile 6 on it to bring it as up to date as I could without needing to get a new phone, it runs well

the advantage of WM5/6 over the original OS (Windows Mobile 2003 se) is that there is a lock option on the Today page which I like, so I always engage that when the device is in my pocket

It is not so much that touch screen is bad, it is just that it is the wrong application and too small an area. Also it is less mentally satifying than pushing or moving something.

My "smart phone" is a separate mobile and pda. Not always a fan of modular design.

Strange I may be, but I love the touchscreen option. Can't imagine not having it now....
I am, naturally, totally dependant on my Treo - it has my timetables, databases, eBooks, dictionaries, music, documents - in fact, it does everything but make my coffee for me...!
Even though I am pretty clumsy, I rarely hit the wrong icon or get frustrated with it. It might just be my choice of handset, however, as other touchscreen models I have tested I have really disliked...
The keyboard is, of course, very small, but I find it fine to use - no good if you have long nails or big fingers (I don't).
I use a Treo 650 (Palm OS) with assorted programs from various sources.

I've had my E71 for two weeks now, and I love it dearly already. Next I have to get some software running on it.

My partner has a Samsung Omnia, which has roughly equivalent power, but is completely devoted to the touch screen look and feel. Her screen is larger, but I get more done with mine. Go figure.

Actually, I was concerned about the QWERTY keyboard - worried that the keys were too small. Between the feel of the thing and the trainable smart text recognition, though, my concerns are subsiding.
