How do you extract audio clips from movie files??

There are sound clips I want to use from mpeg, avi, and mov files. Is there any way I can extract certain bits of the audio from such files?? I know the audio is embedded in with the files but is there any way I can extract the audio parts that I desire??

What operating system are you using? Windows I presume?

I know you can do it with windows movie maker. Here is an program also that will help ya extract music from a video http://www.aoamedia.com/audioextractor.htm

I have windows movie maker and I'll try to figure out how to use the sound extraction with it. I am downloading the program you suggested too. Thanks a bunch!

sony sound forge is good. Just take the video file and place it in an open blank project and walah.
