I need some advice, I am not a whizz at computers but how do you permanently block websites on your laptop?

I would really appreciate some advice. Thank you. :)

Depends on the operating system. The http-protocol uses by default port 80; you would need to block this port for all traffic.

All websites, like all internet activity, or just certain websites? What OS (Windows, Mac, etc.) and what browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.) are you using?

use something called opendns in theory also making browsing sites a lot faster. It allows you to block sites and select keywords for instance you can set google to go to google . com so you never have to type the full address. This will also keep a log for you of site been on.

Another great thing about it is its more sercure it protects you from DNS attacks and the likes and its totally FREE.

the site is here:

the first in google if you google "opendns"

its got some detailed instructions for basic computer users.
