I have an ipod nano (4g) and with some songs, it won't show the downloaded album artwork. It'll show the artwork on itunes but after I sync the ipod, I find that some songs won't have the artwork.

Also, is it possible to sync the ipod without losing your songs and stuff and have it just look for new songs and stuff in your playlists?

losing your songs? you mean like on someone elses iTunes where you don't have your library?

as to the artwork- it sometimes works like this with mine too, usually after I manually add it again in iTunes it's fine. no idea why they disappear though.

It's just that when I have all my songs and playlists and stuff on my ipod and I just want to add a couple more songs and I add those two more songs, I fond after synching, I only have those two songs and all of my other songs are gone.

I just got an Ipod nano like three days ago man.

Oh, and the answer to you question: don't delete the aac files of your songs off your harddrive OR the software suspects you don't want it on your Ipod as well. I kept scratchin' my head because of this for a day-- WHY WOULD THEY PROGRAM AN IPOD TO DO THAT???

Turn off autosync and don't hit the sync button. When you add new songs into iTunes, just highlight the ones you're adding, right-click them, and there should be a "Sync with iPod" option or something similar that will sync just those songs. They may have changed this, I haven't used iTunes since I got a Zune a year and a half ago.

maybe you have checked the "sync only checked songs" option and you forgot to keep all songs in your library checked?
