Say I like surfing the net, and sending internet shortcuts to my desktop (Ok, I should just add the pages to my favourites instead, but what the hell). Then I remove these shortcuts from my desktop and shove them into a folder. After a while I've got a load of these internet shortcuts in a folder.
Is there a way to either
1. Quickly gather all the relevant URLs into a text document (via the command line maybe)?
And / or
2. Quickly add all the URLs to my favourites
And is there a way to quickly gather all the relevant URLs from my favourites into a text document?

1 and 2:
Yes. You could copy the whole folder with shortcut fles (yes, they are regular files) into your Internet Explorer's Favorites folder. Then you would have them easily accessible using IE.
But let's assume you want something better, and are using Mozilla Firefox instead. Then you use Firefox' built-in Import wizard to re-import your bookmarks from IE.
Then, if you want to make a text document of it all, you could take a look at the bookmarks.html file that is somewhere in your Firefox folder in your user profile. Open bookmarks.html in a text editor such as Notepad. NB: Text editor, not word processor.
