Internet Explorer 8 downloaded itself and installed a couple of nights ago.

I figured I would give it a try. I'm not too happy...

On the plus side, it hasn't crashed like IE7 was prone to do at least once a day. And, they added a thing called tab gouping that I like. It color codes tabs that have been lauched by another tab... nice but...

On the down side, much of the time, when you right click and open a link in another tab, the new tab just hangs... oddly enough if you click the link and surf from the original window, it works fine - but, I like to open stuff in new tabs. I also checked the open in new window thing and it fails too... Which makes me wonder how much testing Microsoft did before putting out this crap.

Oh! And there are also websites that it doesn't seem to want to load every time - no matter how you open them... Suspiciously, google is one of them...

I'll be downloading Firefox 3.5 when they release it in a week or two...

What's Internet Explorer? :P

I've got Firefox 3 as well as the beta of 3.5 on my machine. 3.5 is fast.

it still popping up and trying to download, I do like to keep my automatic
updates on notify before installing. I haven't used IE for anything other
then doing the occasional update, I am happy using Firefox.

OK - I am now running Firefox... its nice and fast...but... when I open a link in a new tab it open's it all the way at the end of my tabs rather than next to the tab that it originates from... I don't like that one bit. I don't see an option to change this either... :(

Get the TabMixPlus add-on to change this. TabMixPlus also has a much better session manager than the Firefox default.

Internet Explorer is a program that you use to download a web browser.

I allowed it to download today as part of the automatic updates. On the first run it asked me lots of questions about what crappy bloatware features I want to use and how they should be configured.
Can't say I'm impressed. Just more features I don't need or want to use; so I'll be sticking with Firefox as my primary browser.
