I have a relatively strange problem. Is there any way that I could take flv files, that is flash videos, and transfer them to DVD to be played in a regular DVD player connected to a television? I have some animation I've done for a school class, and we don't have a computer in the classroom where I have to give the presentation, but we do have a television set with a DVD player in it.

Thank you so much!

Well, you can convert the movies to VMW or AVI format and play them in your DVD player.

That works at least on most DVD players here in Europe, i have all my vacation videos/pictures burned to a CD and can play them right off that in my DVD player.

I made a few disks of music videos that work in my DVD player, by converting the .flv files to .mpeg with a free program I discovered called Pazera. It doesn't seem to contain any malware that I've noticed, but without the premium version you can only convert a clip less than five minutes long. That's not a problem for me but it might be for you, I don't know.

Free stuff...

Obviously use KeepVid to get the FLVs of Youtube

Then use

RivaVX (http://www.rivavx.com/) to get them converted to something (AVI) that Nero (not free) can handle.

I just read this thread back to myself. First I want to thank all of you for your help!

Secondly, I want to ask if by CD, you mean a regular CD and not a blank DVD disk.

Thank you so much!

By CD i mean CD. Over here, where the movie companies do not run the government, we have DVD players that can play CD movies, also called VCD:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCD

Also, you can fill another CD with contain individual files that also can be played in sequence such as MPEG audio (MP3), Images (JPEG or digital camera format) and other Movie formats (AVI, WMV files) etc. Some DVD players also have USB ports so you can attach USB memory sticks and play it that way, maby even USB Harddrives could work (have not tested it).

You can also burn these files to DVD without the normal DVD "system" on it which will make the same CD menu pop up and you will be able to play these individual files in the same way as if they were on a CD.
