Hotmail and Topic Reply Notification

Well, it's finally happened. The adds have taken over my hotmail page, so that now I can't see the WP topic at all.

In the Inbox, where it says:
[email protected] --- Topic Reply Notification - Name of thread...

The column has become so narrow that it has no room for the name of the thread. It doesn't have that thingie like in Excel that lets you change the width of the column or push it over and peek.

Any geeks in da house? How can I fix it? Or could Alex push some buttons and change the way it goes out?

Not to insult your intelligence, but have you noticed the yellow bar right below where it says reply reply all forward? In the yellow bar it says This message is too wide to fit your screen. Then it gives a link called Show full message. That's what I use when a message is too wide on my hotmail account.

That yellow bar is after you open a particular message.
I'm talking about the list of message in the Inbox. The column is so narrow that I can't even see the first letter of the thread name any more.

Watch out for it treating legitimate emails as spam though. I recently contacted someone to do some work on the house for me via his gmail account. As I didn't get a reply I made alternate arrangements. Two weeks later he contacted me saying he had initially missed my email because of Gmail dumping it in his spam folder. Too late though. He lost £2000 worth of work - all down to Gmail!

Could Alex change it from his end?

In the Inbox, where it says:
"[email protected] --- Topic Reply Notification - Name of thread..."
I want it to say:
"[email protected] --- Name of thread..."

The first question is whether the technology would allow it.
The second question is whether he would be willing.

I hate to bother him, but it's so annoying.

Yes, that would be configurable in the forum code. But as you said, he may or may not be willing.

Kinda makes you want to plunk down actual cash money for a fee based email address that will treat specific email gently. It is worth the investment to get a small business account. Does Gmail have an upgrade?
