Just seen the teaser trailer for Roland Emmerich's new film, due out in the autumn, a political thriller set in Elizabethan England which suggests that the real author of the Shakespearean plays and sonnets was Edward de Vere, involved in the manoevrings of various parties to determine who inherited the throne after Elizabeth, and that some of those "plots"/manipulations might figure in the plays.
I did think to begin with that it was a rather weird subject for the director of "2012", "10,000 BC", "The Day After Tomorrow", "Independence Day", "Stargate", etc, but then again perhaps not, as many of the above, and others by him, do explore to great extent who will survive cataclysmic changes/disasters, etc, the processes of "selection" for success, etc! :lol
I think the graphics/visuals look great, like a sort of "Assassin's Creed" in Elizabethan England instead of Renaissance Italy.
And the cast is pretty good too. Who else is looking forward to this?
