I'm very happy now :D

I have no idea why anybody hates either of these films. Some people tell me that the ending in Crystal Skull is unrealistic. I always ask whether they've even watched the endings of the other Indy films!

I also like all of the other films on your list that I've seen.

i personally hate the ending to crystal skull because lucas is trying to mix science fiction with fantasy/adventure with that. i think it is just as stupid as having a fire-breathing dragon fight the USS Enterprise.

I would like to see a fire-breathing dragon fight the USS Enterprise. That would be funny, even if it would be stupid.

I can see why you think the ending of Crystal Skull looks like science fiction. But I don't see anything wrong with that. The Indiana Jones franchise is based on the genres of travel-adventure, lost world, and (mainly) B-Movie. There's nothing wrong with including alien-like creatures in a B-Movie!

I definitely wouldn't call it fantasy though. There are medieval themes in Crusade, but those are mainly because of the MacGuffin.

I have a few movies like that too. There's some movies everybody else says are stupid or mediocre, but for some reason I find them highly enjoyable. Here is my list:

Mini's First Time
The Skeleton Key
Batman Forever
Resident Evil (the first movie, the others I think are crap)
The Stupids

Ang Lee's Hulk. I really don't get why so many people hated it.
Fantastic Mr Fox (possibly hard to believe, but I have yet to meet a single person who likes it)

Last Action Hero is the only one I can think of, many said it was corny and such but I like the fantasy theme of entering your fav series of action movie, plus if you did go into a movie's universe wouldn't you expect it to be corny?

Planet of the Apes (2001). A lot of people, even fellow fans of Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, hate this movie. But I thought it was a lot of fun. I thought the apes were very cool and Ari was my favorite.

I'm a fan of that one as well, and I think it's a shame that people dismissed it so quickly and hatefully. It is a bit slow-paced, but there was a lot of substance to the story, and I think it's a gorgeous film to watch. The sliding comic book panels, the quirky editing, the desert landscapes as Hulk bounds over them. Beautiful filmmaking. But I thought the Father vs. Son showdown at the end was a mess. Too bad.

I hate pretty much every movie on your list (at least those I have seen), so I think you're onto something OP.

I don't like any movies that are particularly hated by the public myself; I tend to only like good movies. Good movies don't tend to have bad reviews.

Not to hate, but making a list of movies some people hate and some people like is getting you nowhere, because there's always going to be people (dis)liking something. A lot of times people slag off a movie simply because it's not what they expected it would be. Wolverine is a good example in this case. The Simpsons Movie too. Great film, but it was so hyped up that it wasn't ever going to live up to expectations, resulting in a lot of bad press.
Some of your choices may have put some people in a wrong mood, but are considered perfectly fine. Watchmen for instance got rave reviews but made a few fans angry. I consider that movie a modern day classic. King Kong too was fine as well, untill Jackson f-ed it up with his pretentious director's cut on DVD. As a diehard fan I even liked the last 2 Terminator movies and the last Indy, despite their obvious missteps.

But I do get your point because I too have got quite a few guilty pleasures, movies which are obviously far from perfect but push my buttons anyway. Here are a few recent ones:

Hitman [2007] - as an aspie I just related a lot to the main character and Olga Kurylenko is simply hot as hell

Doom [2005] - okay, so it is another half-assed attempt to bring a computergame to the bigscreen, but I guess I just like grimey men with big guns.

Fantastic Four 1 & 2 (couldn't help it, liked both of them - no hidden meaning, no post-modernistic angst, just fun)

Die Another Day [2002] - the anniversary Bond movie. Got a lot of flak for being overly gimmicky, too self-referencing and over-the-top, but I liked it because of that. It was after all the 20th Bond movie so imo you're allowed to go all out and have a main villain in a friggin' exoskeleton commanding a lasercanon from space.

The whole Underworld series [2003 - 2009] - These movies do so much things wrong (weak directing and editing in part 1, cliché script, etc.) but sometimes that doesn't stand in the way of liking a movie apparently. Good trashy fun.

The Fountain [2005] - Sometimes a movie tries too hard to do too much and becomes a bit top heavy. The Fountain is one of them, but despite that it's simply a beautiful, meaningful movie, expertly made and with a monumental soundtrack. So not a real guilty pleasure then, but just a misunderstood movie.

[quote="raisedbyignorance"]I liked "The Princess and the Frog" and thought it was a good effort at a 2D animation comeback though many Disney enthusiasts and real life folk don't think so. quote]

Wait, there are people out there who didn't like The Princess and The Frog?
I also liked Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, the Star Wars prequels, and I used to like Lady in the Water, but I haven't seen it in a while.
