It's better than Insurrection, at least.

I voted for Generations. That movie was... horrible. I am also surprised that Search for Spock isn't well liked, I liked it. Also, regarding the reboot, I loved it when it first came out, but now that I look back, it was only ok

It's funny to me that Trekkies spend so much time complaining about the post-TOS movies simply because they contradict something that came before, when there are so many more genuine and legitimate things to complain about. The scripts have been uniformly horrible, not just in relation to past Trek films and shows, but as standalone stories.

Which scripts to which series of star trek?

I thought the search for Spock was great.

"New Kirk" is the product of quack screenwriters who watch too many Fast and Furious and American Pie movies. Edward James Olmos' Adama was a "differently" written character from Lorne Greene's version, but the new version of Gallactica was done well (despite some bizarre "dominatrix fetish" overtones from Ron Moore) in contrast the new Trek seemed more suited for the juvenile delinquent mindset.

It would have been more objective to include all trek movies on the list.

It's my speculation that the liking/hatred of the reboot breaks down over generational lines.
You younger folks are more likely to like the reboot, and the older folks who grew up with TOS are more likely to hate the reboot.

I for one, don't really like any of the works of J.J.Abrams.

I didn't grew up with TOS, still hated the reboot. (unless you consider the movies as "TOS") Too stupid and too fast, some slow down, intelligence and contemplation wouldn't hurt. (Not as much as the first movie, of course. )

J.J. Abrams Star Trek was made more to introduce non trekkies to the franchise. Until I saw it I never was a fan of Star Trek, but I wanted to see it and the week leading up to it's release I found myself watching classic episodes of TOS and even some of the other Treks. Since then I have every episode of all five shows and all eleven movies. I guess I'm still a bit of a noob but I sure do know more about Star Trek than I did before.

I don't like the way hollywood corporate studios don't have the guts to take a chance on any new ideas.
They would rather do a 'reboot' (just a remake in fancy marketing lingo) and pee all over someone elses work and call it their own.

Well, I hated Nemesis because of the "brain rape" of the counselor. I don't like any kind of rape scene in a film, period. Some people don't seem to be affected much by it but it just haunts me. It's such a horrible sort of crime in all its forms.

And I suppose this will just stir things up, but I loved the new Star Trek movie. I grew up with the old trek series' playing in my home, from TOS up to Voyager (never saw Enterprise). I never found any of it to be such a well-crafted, brilliantly acted, tightly-made piece of sci fi that it left no room for reinterpretation. I liked the old Kirk, sure, but I couldn't take him seriously any more than Scotty or Chekhov. So no harm there... and I thought both old and new Spocks did a fine job. And Sulu... well, now, the original is a tough act to follow...

But getting back to the subject of Chekhov... that was kinda sad. He was a comely boy, but couldn't they have taken the opportunity to find someone with a real accent? Here we find someone with so much room for improvement, and they find a cute kid who sounds every bit as ridiculous...

according to the good ol' wiki, Gene Roddenberry asked Walter Koenig to "ham up" his Russian accent to add a note of comic relief to the series. Chekov's accent has been criticized as inauthentic, in particular Koenig's substituting the 'w' sound in place of a 'v' sound (e.g, "wodka" for "vodka"). Koenig has said the accent was inspired by his father, who had the same difficulty with the 'v' sound. IOW, his accent was based on a real russian [as spoken by Lithuanians during the USSR's existence] person.
