Did anyone think Dark Knight Rises was a disapointment?

I loved Batman Begins and Dark Knight, but Dark Knight Rises was a huge letdown. I don't know, it just felt slow and the story wasn't that interesting. I ended up seeing the 1989 Batman film and Batman Forever that summer, I thought those movies were far better. What did you guys think?

Pacing was weird.

I mean where the hell did Bane drop off Bruce Wayne in that hole in the ground prison and how did he get back?

I can't even remember, one of my friends who I saw it with thought it was boring.

I tried to watch it and give it a chance but.. I don't know, yeah it was boring I guess. I ended up falling asleep maybe ten or twenty minutes in.

I liked it. There are a number of questions left unanswered by the movie, but plenty of theories could be used to fill the open gaps and so not one of the unanswered questions is capable of ruining the story-line for me. There have been better Batman movies, but nevertheless, The Dark Knight Rises is certainly a good one in my opinion.

I got tired of Bane's speeches. That's an annoying character!

I know! I thought Bane was going to steal the show, much like the Joker did in Dark Knight, but he didn't! I liked Catwoman more and she wasn't even that interesting.

Ha ha, every time Bane started a speech, my friend and I looked at each other and said "no, no, another drudgery no, pleaaaase". We ended laughing because Bane had A LOT of uninteresting and neverending monologues. We couldn't believe it!! Bane was really full of himself, bleh

I personally loved the movie, I thought it was better than the Dark Knight. I don't normally like superhero movies but it was really good! I thought Bane was a really good villain too, I liked him much more than the joker. He was kind of hard to understand sometimes, but he was one of my favorite bad guys from a recent movie.

My younger brother held more or less the same opinion.

One of friends at school actually said that she liked Bane in Batman and Robin than in Dark Knight Rises. She wasn't joking, unfortunately...

Disagree completely, TDKR never lagged in places and it was a hugely satisfying end to the Christopher Nolan trilogy. Tom Hardy was excellent as Bane, he instantly erases the memories of the Joel Schumacher Bane. Anne Hathaway proved me completely wrong as Catwoman, her look was more closer to the comics than the original trilogy.

TDKR is miles better than Batman Forever as well, at least there's no annoying and camp butchering of villains and a wooden Batman (Yes, Val Kilmer, i'm speaking about you).

I don't know, I liked how campy Batman Forever was, but that's only my opinion.

Fair enough, nothing wrong with that. Having said that, i still love the Tim Burton films and do watch them from time to time, but now they feel empty and dated when put upagainst the gritty realism of the Christopher Nolan films.

Jim Carrey's Riddler has nothing on the Arkham City Riddler.

I was a LITTLE disappointed, because I was expecting it to surpass the Dark Knight. Though I think the Dark Knight is definitely the best in the Dark Knight Trilogy, I still liked Rises for what it is and how surreal it got toward the end. I just like when a movie starts off normal and ends in a really surreal/weird/BIG way, you know?
