Seven

Old, yes, but I wasn't born too long before it came out so this was the first time I saw it. Thrilling.

"To The Wonder" by Terrence Mallick - a lyrical film that traces moments in the relationship between a playful French woman and a reticent American. The film is filled with beautiful cinematography; it looks as it the whole film occurs at golden hour. Unfortunately there isn't enough character or conflict to support the whole two hours. I was mostly interested in the story for the first 40 minutes, but after that it just never really built toward anything. Javier Bardem's conflicted priest remained interesting, but I got bored with Ben Affleck's lack of affect.

Barfuss (2005). It´s a German movie, I found it okay although I don´t like the actor of one main character, Til Schweiger.

I just saw Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch' on TV... I realise that this movie has received a lot of negative criticism, and I can see why, but I cannot say that I didn't enjoy this movie. It was different, it was out there, and maybe in terms of plot and characters it didn't have all that much substance and instead featured a lot of flash and pretty pictures, but it had my full attention from start to finish. I'm still processing everything that happened in it, in my mind, but I quite liked most of it, with the exception of something that happens about halfway through.

Dallas Buyers Club

Matthew McConaughey plays an HIV-positive redneck who smuggles "unapproved" drugs from Mexico into the US, not only for his own use, but to help other HIV-positive patients, including a transwoman named Rayon who becomes his "business partner."

Great movie with Oscar-worthy performances by not only McConaughey, but by Jared Leto as the transwoman and Jennifer Garner as the doctor of McConaughey's character. Everyone should see this movie, even if you do not "respond" well to LGBT movie characters.

Last Tango In Paris-Well I can't really give a thorough review as it's not teenager friendly LOL.It is intense and wild and all about human desire and despair and the reason of life, relationships and torment. If you are a Marlon Brando fan,see it because he is amazing.

Man of Steel on bluray.

I don't get the hate for this movie. It's a good comic book movie and a GREAT sci-fi movie. The Kryptonian designs are awesome.

About Elly

A 2009 Iranian psychological drama regarding the disappearance of the titular character from a holiday villa. I found it to an engaging story, a little like a modern-day retelling of J.B. Priestley's An Inspector Calls with a touch of Hitchcock-esque drama as Elly's friends slowly reveal their past interactions with her, and certain falsehoods come to light. Gripping stuff.

"Francis Ha" by Noah Baumbach - This film is actually kind of likeable which is surprising considering I've disliked the other films I've seen by Baumbach. Greta Gerwig is engaging and is the main reason why this film succeeds at all. That said, I doubt I'd bother to watch this film again.
