A fun little film from the early two thousands

Not a bad film as it pertains to the re-imagining of the original, but could have been better.

The Death Of Stalin.

The movie Putin doesn't want you to see (yes, it's banned in Russia)!
When Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin dies, his upper echelon leaders make themselves look like power grabbing buffoons as they try to seize power themselves. And then there's the matter of Stalin's crimes that they all want to do something about, but are all fearful that their complicity with said crimes will also be exposed. Steve Buscemi as Khrushchev, and Jefferey Tambor as Molotov are hilarious in this historically based black comedy.

Not bad, particularly considering its age, but I'm just so dang eager to watch the 1982 adaptation that it kind of detracts from this. Gosh, I'm such a sucker for body horror

Ghostbusters(2016 version)
Seeing it two years after the fact left me wondering what all the fuss and controversy was about.

A couple of mildly funny scenes and could not compare to the original, another words a typical remake.

People get upset when an iconic movie or classic get remade, but why Ghostbusters? The original was a lighthearted comedy albeit a much better than usual one.

Misogyny because it was an all female cast? The was nothing overtly "female" or remotely feminist about it. It is not like the characters spent all movie gossiping about makeup and periods(LOL). Oceans 8 is not getting remotely the same level of bile.

Interstellar. I’m actually listening to my favourite scenes on headphones as I write this, as I like to do.

It’s now added to my special interests, on tier two (T1 is main, all encompassing special interests, T2s are shorter term varied special interests and T3s are life long, broader and/or ones that I oversaturated but still remain in my heart).

Also watched Gone Girl yesterday, and Snowpiercer, A Light Between Oceans and Law Abiding Citizen recently. All great films and I thoroughly enjoyed them, though they didn’t become special interests.

Notting Hill
Good. It was sad that the lady that plays Hugh Grants sister died a few months ago. I love Rys Ifans in this.

Brave? Why? Oh, wait. I am not referring to John Travolta's version, I mean the one from 1996. That one was interesting. I hear the new one is a total flop.
