The Batman.

Rewatching this amazing - if not overly long - superhero movie.
From this film, I've come to the conclusion Bruce Wayne would have put a gun in his mouth a long time ago if he wasn't Batman. His mother's mental illness, which was probably inherited, makes a great deal of sense with the Wayne/Batman character.

I watched Alto Knights. It's a weird movie. I can't say it bored me, but it also wasn't very interesting. Which is some feat considering you have De Niro doing De Niro, and a script from the guy who wrote Wiseguy and Barry Levinson directing. I was just mystified as to why anyone thought this would make an interesting movie. They spend 2 hours building up this antagonistic relationship between two mafia big men and...nothing comes of it.

The Phantom Lake Kids in The Day The Earth Abruptly Almost Ended (2022)
8O
Part of the Mihmiverse.
This was the weirdest movie from the Mihmiverse I've seen.
I got the feeling that Christopher Mihm had writer's block and this was an exercise in flow of conscience writing. (I've been there.) Or possibly, he was trying a different writing style. It was well put together. I just had issues with the pacing of the comedy bits, like the hotdog "in a bun" gag. I like the title.

I need to go back and read what Double Retired wrote about it.

IMDB Storyline wrote:
Phantom Lake County is known for its share of strange occurrences, from monster attacks to alien invasions. However, things will never be the same when, after experiencing inexplicable earthquakes emanating from a local system of caves, the area is overrun by grossly mutated creatures of unusual size, a phenomenon that may point to the return of a long-since-forgotten menace. Thankfully, the Phantom Lake Kids (Danny and Evelyn Johnson and their friends Billy Blue, Butch, and Chip) are "on the job" and determined to solve the real mystery: what's the deal with Butch's magic hat?
—Christopher R. Mihm

Just read Double Retired's post again. Go with his post. It was fun, and a bit silly.

We just watched:

The Terrornauts [1967]
<=>"The virgin sacrifices to the gods of a ghastly galaxy!"

Low budget 1960s British TV movie.

I remembered seeing it a few times on TV way-back-when and finally got a copy on disk.

The disk will probably not be viewed much.

Last night we watched:

The Blob [1958]
<=>"Beware of the Blob! It creeps, and leaps, and glides and slides across the floor."

or, if you prefer:

Last night we watched:

Memoir of a Snail [2024]
<=>"Life can only be understood backwards, but we have to live it forwards."

Perhaps not great, but good.

um...NOT suitable for children. Childish adults might enjoy it, though.

Watching Wolf of Wallstreet again

Awesome movie, Leonardo Decaprio is awesome in it. It's pretty vulgar, fair warning if you ever see it

I saw that again a few weeks ago. I love it. Leonardo is great in it. It does a good job at showing what happens when self-identified "degenerates" gain too much wealth. What do people whose sole purpose in life is to get rich do once they're rich? Also, it maybe gives a glimpse into what the financial industry is like behind the scenes. There's no real ethical consideration when the main purpose is to make your numbers go up as much and quickly as possible.
