Hello, My Twenties

Season 1, episode... just finished 6.
I have been watching Hello, My Twenties on KOCOWA+
I love the opening theme song. It is in English and the singers voice is so sweet. After hearing well over thirty times it dawn on me, "I recognized that voice!"

Not only that, but I am certain I have it on the B side of a 45. It has been a very, very long time since I've played that record. I recognized the singer purely from her voice. Those were the days...
I was about ten when this song came out courtesy of Apple Records and Sir Paul McCartney. Mary Hopkin was a breath for fresh air for the late sixties.

So in episode 6, Park Eun-bin is on a day walk with her roommates, She is wearing what looks like a rain coat. They egg her on, and she goes by a tree, starts twirling around, moves behind the tree, and reemerges as Wonder Woman! The silliness suits her character.

Correction: It is not the B-Side of Those Were the Days. Turn, Turn, Turn was. Goodbye was the follow up single.

Hello, My Twenties
season 2 - 2017

season 2 has several meta jokes about one of the characters. She is Eun Yoo-jae.
She was played by one actor in season 1, and a different actor in season 2.
In episode 1 of season 2, Park Eun-bin's character tells the character her face has changed in the last year.
In episode 5, at the end where characters are sometimes interviewed, she Yoo-jae is asked if she she has changed.
In episode 6, at the end, there are series of scenes of the main characters from when they were children. When it comes to Eun Yoo-jae, her teacher is taking roll call and two girls sitting next to each other look up.
There is also the romance from season 1 where the guy told her she was so cute (! !!), and that is why he liked her so much. He liked the way she looked. In season 2, he ignores her, and it is never explained.
I want to go back and watch episodes 2 through 4 again to see if there other references.

Yes, that is Park Eun-bin on the right playing Song Ji-won.

Yes. Somewhere in the back of my brain that keeps popping up. Translation: every once in a while I think "are the new episodes of Dexter coming out soon?" Then I try to remember exactly when, can't, think about looking it up, and then oh!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Season 12, episode 16 - June 22, 2025 - AI Slop (or properly spelled A.I. Slop)

In other word, I distract myself with a tangent.

Thank you babybird for reminding us! I will now look it up before I click Submit...

Dexter: Resurrection - July 11, 2025, episodes 1 and 2 on Paramount+
What is weird about the IMDB page is list lists 10 episodes (okay) and episodes one and two will be released July 11 (again, okay), but episodes 9 and 10 show they were released May 17 and May 18 (WTF? Sorry for the acronymonious1 swearing)

___________________________________________________
1 - combining acronym with the suffix monious meaning of or resembling
I made it up. Not to be confused with Acrimonious. Although acrimonious is me when acronyms are not punctuated. WFT is pretty common, as is AI except with out an appropriate font, AI can read as Al (lowercase L). It's like saying let's make a new traffic sign that is red and white with eight sides that says STOP, but it is an acronym meaning Some Traffic Or Proceed. STOP, it just muddles the meaning. Although someone is feeling so pleased with their acronym (not me).

See, this is the type of tangent stuff I get lost in. I find it absurd and humorous. The end result is not absurd and humorous, but the neuro mechanism that creates the end result. I just wanted to post that I watched Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Hello, My Twenties

Last of season 2

Season 1 and 2 are different. Season 2 has an over all story arc. It also has several smaller arcs that involve relationships. I've read several (more than five - LOL) that the second season seemed more random. I don't think I agree with that, but it is different.

As mentioned, the character Eun Yoo-jae is played by completely different people in season 1 and 2. They look nothing alike, and I've mentioned in previous post about comments within the show that reflect this. In episode 12, her own mother comments how she has changed, like she is a different person. This is more subtle than it sounds because all the women have undergone a life changing event (part of the over all story arc). In the last episode, the actors, in character, thank the view and say goodbye. Eun Yoo-jae makes the comment that she has changed a lot. It is true her character has grown, but I cannot get past the fact that she has obviously changed. All the characters change/grown with experience, but she it the only one that mentions it, and is the only one that actually changes.

I enjoyed it. Maybe random was not a bad description. People never cite examples.

F1: The Academy
on Netflix

episode 4 through 7

I enjoyed the series. Last year, the year that was covered in the show, I was aware of Abbi Pulling, the British driver who became champion and drove for Alpine. Chloe Chambers, an American driver driving for the American team, Haas. Doriane Pin, the French driver driving for Mercedes. Maya Weug, the Dutch driver driving for Ferrari.
I learned several things about the other drivers, which was nice.
Doriane Pin is leading the championship this year, followed by Chloe Chambers.

The story of some of the drivers would have been more interesting if I had a better memory of 2023. Some did very well in 2023, but had difficulties in 2024. For some it was the other way around. Abbi Pulling for instance. No one imagine her having such a dominant season.

Ludwig
On Britbox

Quote:
While seeking to unravel the mystery of his twin brother's disappearance, reclusive puzzle-designer John 'Ludwig' Taylor takes on his twin brother James's identity as DCI on Cambridge's major crimes squad.

Season 1, episodes 1 and 2.
I'm enjoying this show. Episode 2 caught my attention because I spotted a character and thought "That's Felicity Kendal." She co-starred with Richard Briers in The Good Life, or Good Neighbors as it is known in the U.S.

This is a very enjoyable show.
