Isle of the Dead (1945)

Another Val Lewton film, with Boris Karloff.

I watched for the first time an old 1940s horror movie called The Woman Who Came Back. It had its good moments, but kind of fell short in the ending.

I later watched what is one of my all time favorite movies, the horror classic The Old Dark House from 1932. I absolutely love this movie.

I Walked with a Zombie (1943)

Produced by Val Lewton
Directed by Jacques Tourneur

In my opinion, these films don't look like B-Movies. I think it is partly the quality of the stories.

I'm watching The Body Snatcher now. Tomorrow I'll watch Bedlam. I won't post them.

The Old Dark House is a wonderful film. Creepy, tense, a bit Mad, and at times funny.

You're right pcgoblin on that film. It definitely has dark comical moments. For some reason, I find Penderel's line after Morgan opens the door and mumbles near the beginning hilarious -- "Even Welsh ought not sound like that."
I also like when Horace throws Rebecca's flowers in the fire.

Being in the mood for some French eroticism, I watched Bilitis.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

Really funny flipping predictable tropes on their heads.

Silent Night, Bloody Night (1972)

aka Death House

Cheaply made horror film, very dull until the final 20-30 minutes, when the plot becomes more interesting and things get explained. Not really sure that it's enough to save the day though. 5/10

Public Domain film - it's available on YouTube:

The Little Hours (2017) - based loosely on Boccaccio's The Decameron.

It was cute, but I thought that Pasolini did a better job.
