Thats were your wrong since I do know why batman became the way he was. You know his parents getting shot? All that rage building up inside of him and fighting justice and making sure bad guys do not infest the streets of gotham city.

The cartoons were very accurate in exploring that aspect of batman as well. I don't mind the serious aspect of batman but Nolans approach is dull and charmless.

Yep and there still of a hell of a lot better than Nolans bat films.

Let me try and say this in the nicest way possible. I did not like batman and robin but it kept my attention for longer than the Dark Knight did. I did like Batman Begins more than Batman and Robin though. Batman and robin is way down on my list of my favourite batman films. Let me show you the list again. 1 being my favourite.

1.Batman Forever
2.Batman
3.Batman Returns
4.Batman Begins
5.Batman and Robin
6.The Dark Knight
7.The batman film from the 1960's (can't remember its name?)

Burtons films are very good because they use dark humour and are very stylisitc and almost gothic kind of like edward siccorhands.

Batman Forever though was a very refreshing and colourful new dirction.

Well for starters Jack Nicholson was hilarious as the joker. Michael Keaton as well had his funny moments while playing the batman. Then penquin also provided plently of laughs.

Batman Forever was very addicitng to watch and had some fantastic performances from tommy lee and jim carrey. Tommy and Jim had great on screen chemistry. Val kilmer was probably was probably the weakest player in that film.

The thing is batman and robin was not an awful film. its like the godfarther 3 being awful there actually not bad movies there just runts of an extrodinary litter.

Jamesy's redeemed himself slightly with his last few posts. At least he has a vaguely justifiable argument now. Unfortunately, his taste is still terrible, and he still doesn't seem to understand that Batman is not meant to be camp or funny. The fact that he briefly was made so was a horrible mistake that is best forgotten.

[quote="Jamesy"]Do you agree with me that Christopher Nolans batman films like the dark knight and batman begins are really boring. I think the films take themselves far too seriously.

I prefered the 1990's batman films like batman forever and batman and robin.

Do you think I have a point or not? Hopefully they might use more dark humour and special effects in batman 3?[/quote

Batman and Robin is a total insult, the Nolan films s**t on it from a tremendous height. End of.

I just thought I would share my opinion on George Clooney while we are bashing Jamesy and his love for terrible films.

I think George Clooney is a narcissist who cannot act but just plays himself in ever film he is cast in., The guy also looks like he has down syndrome and has a square head.

Also your comparing Batman&Robin to Godfather 3 is absolutely beyond ret*d and actually made me lose any form of respect for you at all. See The Godfather 3 wasn't a bad film per se but just wasn't nearly as good as the first two. Batman and Robin is a bad film in any aspect! If that film was released before all the other Batmans it will still be just as trashed as it is by all means a terrible movie.

As for the Burton films, i always re-watch them from time to time and feel that Returns was the best one since Begins came along. Just because there's no Batcave, no cheesy ice puns from Arnie or a wooden George Clooney doesn't mean that Nolan's vision is rubbish.

Batman and Robin actually got 3 stars in film guide. So its not an AWFUL film, only to die hard serious batman fans who are obssesed with the gritty side of batman it would an abominastion.

I have not got bad taste in batman films. LOL and the Dark Knight bieng a work of art? Yeah if by that they mean it gives you as much of a thrill as visiting an art museum.

Each to their own, Batman and Robin got 1 out of 5 stars by Total Film magazine 2 decades ago, does that mean they have bad taste? Begins and Dark Knight BOTH got 5 stars, does that solve your problem?

Why not read Arkham Asylum, The Killing Joke, Dark Victory or the Long Halloween? They portray the DARK and moody side without going camp.

And the Dark Knight IS a work of art, whereas Batman and Robin is an abortion of a film.
