you claim to hate batman begins, batman & robin, and the dark knight. but you "thanked god" when only BB and TDK weren't in the anthology set, but you liked it when b&r was in it. if you hate b&r, shouldn't you complain about it?

There there Jamesy, i feel your pain. It must be hard for you knowing that the horrible homoerotic undertones, cheesy dialogue, a caffeine-laden Jim Carrey, a slu*ty Nicole Kidman, a cackling Tommy Lee Jones, a wooden Val Kilmer and George Clooney, a brattish Chris O'Donnell, an equally wooden Alicia Silverstone, a clunking Arnie and an embarrassing Uma Thurman will never return in this day and age.

Batman Forever was about as interesting as an evening at a gay bar with Louie Spence from Pineapple Dance Studios, while Batman and Robin had as much depth as a barrel of toxic waste.

Well part of the cheesy aspect of the old films is what made it so appealing and fun to watch. Watching Nolans films is like sitting in a maths lesson.

Batman and Batman Returns weren't cheesy, neither was Mask of the Phantasm. And you've basically repeated what you said 4 posts back, but with a different line (Maths lesson over office meeting).

In short, epic fail

I wouldn't call it that, it's more of a debate. Nothing more, nothing less. :)

When watching begins what was amusing is seeing gary oldman and michael caine acting all manic and trying to over act because they did not want to stuff up the bat franchise. And for gods sake would someone just give gary oldman some water becaue he looked like he was about to have a nervous breakdown in TDK.

christian bale gave a very dull performance and even though i like michael caine his acting is not great.

the acting here is better than batman forever. FYI - if there was a terrorist making threats in your neighborhood, i think you'd be nervous too

Gary Oldman is one of the UK's finest actors, whether as Dracula, a dreadlocked pimp, a corporate tyrant, a russian terrorist or Batman's closest ally. They based his look on the comic Gordon, i think he's perfect for the role.

Michael Caine is an excellent Alfred, providing some light-hearted humour and charm.

Bale balances both the role of spoilt rich playboy and dark vigilante well, if you can ignore his troubled upbringing and recent troubles.

TDK in some ways was better than begins. Begins was really no more than an excuse to explain batmans origins.

Do really need a prat like Nolan as well directing batman films?

Firstly, this "prat" has been praised for reinventing the franchise. Memento, Insomina, The Prestige and Inception are all good movies, all of which out-class Batman Forever

Secondly, at least his recent work is better than your boyfriend Joel Schumacher, who has admitted to be openly gay.
