Netflix
The Great British Baking Show Holidays
Series 8, episode 1 - The Great Christmas Baking Show
I imagine that the the British Wrong Planet aliens may enjoy the opening more than I could appreciate it.
I may have the dialogue wrong because sometime my hearing/word processing ability, cover your eye children, Crap. I put (???) after questionable words.
A guy and a woman is walking down a lawn. "Perfect day for a Christmas stroll, aye Nat?" "Init (???) Dane (???) as long as we don't run into any of that riff-raff from Rivendale (???)."
The another woman and guys walk up and the two groups start fussing and feuding.
Then Noel Fielding and Allison Hammond walk and Allison points out "Christmas is not for violence, guys."
Then the person I think is named Dane says "Is where we come from."
So Noel and Allison mention something about Soaps so the bakers might be actors from competing soap operas, or maybe the same soap opera, but are adversaries. I don't know exactly. I just suspect that if I were British, I might know who the people were. That information is not in IMDB yet, so I'm at a loss.
Now I say "braggedly" (I made that word up) IMDB is not going to hold me back. I found this article ‘The Great British Baking Show: Holidays’ is Back! (Now With British Soap Stars).
The article says this -
Quote:
If you don’t recognize anyone in this year’s Christmas-themed Great British Baking Show: Holidays episode, that could be because you’re not hip to British soap operas like EastEnders or Emmerdale. Here’s who’s who in this year’s The Great British Baking Show: Holidays Christmas
I think my ears/brain mis-processed a few words. I suspect "Rivendale" is actually Emmerdale.
