Dark Crimes

It's a crime thriller with Jim Carrey and Charlotte Gainsbourgh. Jim Carrey was out of his element with this dark, brooding talkfest of a film. He played his part serious enough but his one-note delivery contributed to the waste of time this movie turned out to be. I gave it a 4/10 on IMDb.

Unsane.

A businesswoman who has been traumatized by a stalker finds herself involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward after admitting to her psychiatrist that she had contemplated suicide. Worse, she believes one of the orderlies is her stalker out of the past, except no one believes her. Decent psychological drama of a woman trapped in a living hell.

Ant Man And The Wasp was the last movie I saw in theaters. Proof was the last movie I saw at home. I'm hoping to see Hotel Transylvania 3 within the coming week or two.

Frances Ha.
I like Greta Gerwig. She plays a dysfunctional woman in this good movie

Excellent work. Those creatures were grotesque.

Ready Player One

When A Stranger Calls (2006)

Well, there's another 90 minutes or so of my life gone to waste.

This is apparently a remake of a 1979 film. Babysitter is terrorized by phonecalls, and after a succession of contrived scares and red herrings she eventually meets her tormentor and survives....Utterly boring - the co-star in this film is her mobile phone, which says it all. As is frequently the case in this sort of production, it was difficult to tell what was going on a lot of the time, or what exactly happened at the end, but also hard to care.

Imdb reviewers gave this an average rating of 5.1, but I'd say that's very generous.

Faust.

An artist who sells his soul to get revenge for the murder of his lover gets turned into a serial killer by a demonic character calling himself M. Then when M turns against him, he becomes the equally demonic super-antihero, Faust.
So so for a superhero movie.
