It's A Wonderful Life at the cinema on the big screen in black and white with fully restored sound

It was magnificent -- so much more visual detail and funny one liners than I've ever noticed before, and the anguish scenes were so intense that I sobbed, particularly the ones in his home with the family.

I'd see it again at the cinema tomorrow. Although I've seen it probably 20 times on telly / DVD this was bar-none transformative for me. It isn't just a Christmas film; it's a work of art. There was a standing O at the end, too.

Just, wow. I'm so happy for you that you were able to see it that way. And, I'm extremely envious.

Only drawback -- a lady came into the theatre doused in perfume and sat about six rows ahead of me but I could still smell her chemical warfare. It wafted and rejuvenated every time anyone moved in the aisles between us.

Hunter Killer

A pretty good Gerard Butler submarine flick. I don't know about that title, though. Makes the movie sound like some cheapo Dolph Lundgren shoot 'em up.

"A secret man" was the story of Deep throat. Basically the insider at the FBI that exposed nixon for who he was. I guess the FBI learned alot dealing with Nixon and put more safeguards in place that came in handy recently. I don't know how much of the story that have been dramatized, but it's an interesting one though. It shows lots more events what was going on in the Whitehouse and the FBI than i saw in a documentary a while ago.

"A quiet place" is a story about some...alien invasion, or mutated animals - maybe??? The movie doesn't go deep into the reason why they are there - regardless, they are dumb as f**k and blind and go after noise (hence the theory that they are mutated moles or somesuch). From time to time they are successful in killing a human being and the world population of humans have decreased drastically, there is no telling how many people are left since we only get to follow one family around - and a random nutcase that commits suicide by screaming. Naturally the main protagonist family finds a solution to them (spoiler alert: Massive tinnitus) and roll the end credits.

Aquaman.

Great superhero movie. Not perfect - - Black Manta, who is Aquaman's arch rival, didn't get enough screen time. Patrick Wilson, who plays Aquaman's younger brother, Orm, is how much older than Jason Mamoa? Still, hopefully this movie will erase the damage that the Superfriends/Justice League cartoons had done to Aquaman, namely with that line: "Call me if you need me."
