The Addams Family

I actually watched it by accident. Since my internet connection is weak here, I decided to put my TV on antenna. I usually don't bother doing this because I only get four channels and they're all geared towards the over 70 crowd. In any case, The Addams Family movie with Christopher Lloyd, et al, was on. It was fun seeing a prepubescent Christina Ricci. Christopher Lloyd was also very good as Uncle Fester. All in all, not a bad time waster.

I actually consider the sequel to be an even funnier movie.

I'm watching Grease.

It's astounding that an entire movie was made about a girl's virginity, or lack thereof.

Captain Marvel.

Origin story of Captain Marvel is really about women's empowerment. A bit of bait and switch regarding who the bad guys really are. While it wasn't the best Marvel movie, it was certainly fun.

I liked both of them. I saw them both in theatre when I was little.

Captain Marvel. I though that overall it was a good movie, the total experience was better than just one or two good scenes.

A reboot is set for release on October 11th in time for Halloween.

I wonder who will play Gomez Adams, now.

Oscar Isaac will be the voice of Gomez Addams given that this reboot is an animated film.

Dang it! I was hoping for a live action film! But if it were with live actors, Isaac could pull Gomez off.

Les Diaboliques (1955)

Also known simply as Diabolique. French horror/mystery story directed by HG Clouzot. Often cited as an inspiration for Hitchcock's Psycho, but anyone who's familiar with Jimmy Sangster's Hammer psychological dramas of the 60s and early 70s (eg Taste Of Fear, Crescendo and Fear In The Night) will see a far more obvious resemblance. There's also a striking parallel with Antonioni's Blow Up at one point towards the end of the film.

I'm intending to watch the 1990s remake with Sharon Stone and Isabelle Adjani, but it's proving very difficult to locate a copy on dvd. No luck on YouTube either...
