Wow, Downer. Ending. Or. What.?

I loved the resigned grief the Doctor Displays after Amy's attempts to keep her memories fail, not even bothering to try and remind her of what she's now completely lost

That said, I figure Rory can be brought back specifically because his body was swallowed by a crack, it takes him out of existence, so the timeline no longer includes his death, so if he can be restored to existence....... oh, I don't know, but I imagine if he's brought back, it'll be something like that

and the thing the Doctor pulled out of the crack.... oh dear, that doesn't bode well at all for later in the season

Unless it was a completely stupid mistake, Rory's hospital ID in the Eleventh hour (as I and another poster mentioned earlier in this thread) says he got it in 1990... Either he's a very good looking 50 year old or there's something going on there... He'll be back.

I have mix feelings about the new doctor. I love his signs of aspieness but his knowledge of aliens seems to be lacking. He had to read about the angels?! and ask the fish thing about her shimmer? But still good.

Have any of you played the adventure game "City of the Daleks"? I played it today and it was pretty good. Just like an extra episode of Doctor Who, with some occasionally irritating controls added in.

I haven't played it... My computer might explode because it can't handle NEW stuff! Last nights episode was brilliant. I wanted to talk to my mum and brother about it but they BOTH missed it! I keep telling them to get a freeview box so they can watch it on BBC3!

Did nobody else see Vincent and the Doctor last night? My son and I did, and both sobbed our eyes out!

Okay, I happen to know that historically it was very messed up. I don't want to impose any spoilers, but I know enough about Vincent's life that the final "revelation" took a really big "suspension of disbelief", but wow...

Someone tell me what you thought of that glorious shot when we see the Painting...

Hey, Jellybean... just saw that you have seen it.

My son (who has watched just about every episode he can get his hand on) says it's his favourite episode since Tom Baker. I think I have to agree with him.

I enjoyed the one that was on tonight on Australian TV, The Hungry Earth. Excellent, atmospheric and moody, and nice return of the Silurians.

Vincent and the Doctor. Yeah, great episode! When they were looking up at the sky and Vincent was describing what he saw... wow, it was just so beautiful!

Matt Smith's Doctor seemed different this episode, in a good way. Like he's getting comfortable in the role and really figuring out his character. I don't know what exactly it was that felt different, but I liked it.

It felt more like old fashioned Who, from the first and second doctor era, when they would do straight historical drama. Okay, this wasn't "straight" history, there was an alien presence, but it was driven by the history of one man, and his character, rather than by the Doctor, alien or sci fi. I think that's a key difference, and although it's returning to it's roots, it still seems very fresh and new to us.

And I wasnt too impressed with Vincent and the Doctor.. Sorry to go against the general feel of the room.

I wonder why the Doctor's wearing a hearing aid in the trailer for next week..
