Always thought this was a cool scene. This is from "Quigley Down Under". Such a neat Sharps rifle.

I always liked this super weird dream sequence from Vertigo - one of my favorite movies.

Dalí worked with Hitchcock on the dream sequence in Spellbound:

I love surrealism.

Speaking of Hitchcock movies, I’ve always liked the last scenes in Psycho and North By Northwest although for very different reasons.

I've seen all of these except North by Northwest. So I watched the clip you posted. I love the edit between the cliff and the train. Then, there was a classic train going into a tunnel shot. I had to laugh a bit.

Meaningless/pointless ramblings
I learned about Dali in 9th grade art class. That was 1974. My art teacher introduced me to Dali. Another art teacher, one that I would have for the next two years told him it was going to ruin me because I was interested in Renaissance Art. She was not wrong. I was obsessed had a special interest with Dali for the next eight years. I found every book I could and either bought it or checked it out. Point being, I read about this dream sequence, but I didn't get a chance to see the actual scene until the 1980s. I saw Un Chien Andalou several times before I saw this Hitchcock film.

Dali, Max Ernst, Yves Tanguy , René Magritte, changed my life. Then the Dada movement. I was not interested in the literary work of those movements, although I was, and am, a fan of T.S. Elliott. If I put my mind to it, I can recite most much a bit of The Hollow Men. I could recite all of in it when I was 18.

Favorite scene? Maybe? Not really. Perhaps. Memorable at the very least.

I forgot about this movie until recently but this is an awesome scene from "The Last Samurai" (2003). Incredible movie and think it's an inspiring scene just on not giving up I think. It's a good scene to look at when you are going through those moments. I unfortunately never got to see this in theatres but wish I had.

I just saw this post. It’s really cool that surrealism is such a special interest of yours! I’m especially fond of Dali and Magritte but haven’t done as much of a deep dive as you did. During the lockdown, I read my way through:

among other things and got a broad overview of art history. I loved every second of it. It was the textbook they used in the art history class in college I wanted to take but never had an opportunity to. Oops, I got a bit off-topic.

There's plenty that sucks about the live-action Initial D movie, but the racing scenes are well-done.

Always loved this scene in "Goodfellas". The food scenes just make me hungry.
