Throw Momma From the Train
funny. Anne Ramsey was terrifying to me as a child. I was scared of her in Goonies. Also the scene with the dead body in the freezer and Sloth when you first meet him.

^^^ Must have a watch of that! Just looked it up!

I've seen about 3 movies lately ... all were good!

Midsommar(my Halloween film) was very impressive, gruesome, and captured that vulnerability humans have ... Set in Sweden.
Dani (Florence Pugh) receives terrible news; her bipolar sister, after having an apparent encounter with her parents, kills them and herself. Completely devastated, her boyfriend Christian (Jack Reynor), not to look bad, invites her to visit his rural hometown in Sweden called Halsingland, that is about to celebrate a Midsummer that occurs only once every ninety years. They don’t realize that soon they will become a part of a sinister ritual that involves human sacrifice. However, by the time when the festivity starts, there will be no way out, and if there’s any, that can barely be called a happy ending.

Midsommar Trailer

Serenity - American thriller, scripted by Steven Knight. Serenity revolves around the story of a man named Baker Dill who is a fishing boat captain. He takes people on tours off of the tranquil enclave of Plymouth Island. He is approached by his ex-wife Karen who pleads to him to save her and her child from her violent husband. Soon, Dill’s past life pulls him in a whirlpool. She entreats Dill to take them on a fishing excursion and throw her cruel husband overboard in the shark infested water. Dill is forced to struggle with his past and a new reality that may prove to be a trap.

This was GOOD!

Anna - BEST thriller I've seen in awhile ... Incredible action, great twists and turns, and had me from beginning to end...

Child's play (remake)
I liked this one even better than the original (even though Chucky was cuter in the original). The explanation for why the doll was evil made a lot more sense than possession.

Annabelle comes home
good, like the rest of the franchise

Firestarter

Tusk
DNF, it started off that bad

You must! Great performances by Willem Dafoe (who breaks wind a lot in the movie lol) and Robert Pattinson. It is also written and directed by Robert Eggers who also wrote and directed The Witch.

Much of the dialogue was taken from excerpts written by real-life lighthouse keepers and IMO, The Lighthouse could achieve cult status at some point in the future.

You are certainly right. Even good performances and CG couldn't save this cliched mess.

However, it would not surprise me if Disney gives the green-light to a third Maleficent movie.
