Skyline.
A sci-fi film. Draws a lot from War of the Worlds, Independence Day. It has some good special effects, but the plot is dire, and the ending actually made me laugh, which doesn't happen often. Not something to buy, just watch when it arrives on the Horror Channel or Movies for Men.

Buried.

Just finished watching it. Its given me a huge headache. I have a huge fear of being buried alive, so I don't know why I watched this.

Its a good film, if you can cope with extreme claustrophobia, deeply annoying people putting you on hold all the time, poisonous snakes, lots of sand, and being completely confused about what the hell is going on.

I just watched Deliverance early this morning on AMC. I had seen bits and pieces of it in the past, but this was the first time I had seen the whole thing. Very good, there troubling movie.

We just watched Paris, Texas on DVD. The scene where Travis (Harry Dean Stanton in his only starring role) finally speaks to his ex wife Jane (Nastashya Kinski) in a fantasy booth where she works as a stripper, telling her why he left years ago, and how their little boy wants to see her again, is nothing short of golden.

Caught the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes on TV tonight. I think it's a lot better than people say it is. Then again, I do have a soft spot for Tim Burton's less well-received films. My only complaints were that the actors portraying human characters didn't do a very good job (would have much rather preferred Johnny Depp as the leading man rather than Mark Wahlburg) and the action scenes could have been scarier and more intense. But overall I found it pretty enjoyable and I could actually see it becoming a new obsession. If I do wind up becoming obsessed with it, most of the focus will be directed towards Helena Bonham Carter's character since she was easily the best one in my honest opinion.

I personally thought just about the only good thing about that movie was Tim Roth as the bad guy (or ape).

I agree. It's a great film. One of my all time favorites.

Sweet Revenge, otherwise known as The Revengers' Comedies. The antics of Helena Bonham Carter's character had me laughing out loud multiple times. I thought the plot had some very interesting twists in it. I recommend this for fellow fans of Helena, or anyone who likes British comedy.

Murder By Decree

Mystery movie from the 1970s (I think) starring Christopher Plummer as Sherlock Holmes pursuing Jack the Ripper. It was pretty good. What's funny is that I think I'd seen it before, but I didn't realize it until I started remembering some of the scenes. Plummer did a decent job, but I thought he may have been a little too "warm" to have been a good Holmes. I still think Jeremy Brett was the best, at least of the versions I've seen.
