I fell asleep watching the movie, and my wife woke me up so we could share the misery together.

Homes didn't fight, he always asked Watson if he had his revolver when he thought there would be violence.

They had old English views of sexuality in the books, the movie was typical hollywood.

They should have made the movie, given all the characters different names and called it Guy Richies Action movie part 14, staring Iron Man without his suit.

It was an insult to Doyle's stories.

Not so. Holmes went hand to hand with Moriarty in -The Final Solution-. They fought and both went over Reichenbach Falls.

Sherlock Holmes was NOT an aspie, he was however a manic depressive and a heroin addict. Ignore the movies and read the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories.

I've READ many a Sherlock Holmes Story. Having read them I can say with full confidence that the eccentric genius he is said to be rings most true in the Short Stories and novels. I never got the impression that Holmes had a long tern problem with depression. And as far at the drug addiction ( which was cocaine Not heroin) I believe that the author was simply ignorant of the full effect that drug has on people.....Interestingly enough Sir Aurthur did treat opium with the stigma that we treat hard drugs like Coke an heroin.
