I am a 31 yr old woman who absolutely loves south park, family guy, american dad, futurama - not so keen on Simpsons or king of the hill; but do still watch them. I am also a huge anime fan : naruto, bleach, vampire knight, D grayman, Death note ( although I do prefer reading manga) . As for being a usual 31 ur old woman, I certainly am not one, and I haven't met any other women my age who enjoy the stuff I do. At least not NTs.

I'm 21 so I'm probably a bit young to give my own insight on this matter, but I don't think there is or should be a cut off for watching 'toons! Heck, the ones you mention are all aimed at adults anyway. If you like them it doesn't hurt anyone! My mum, Step-dad and Father (45, 45 & 50) all like South Park, American Dad and Futurama! I should tell them they are too old for it!

Oh and FYI my Mum still likes Pingu!

My mom was telling me that it is rare for woman and people over 30 to watch and enjoy animated sitcoms (Simpsons, Sputh Park, Family Guy, etc.).

Is this true?

Meh, sort of. I meet quite a few guys 30+ who don't watch those types of shows purely because they are cartoons. I, on the other hand, am 31 and enjoy the hell out of South Park, American Dad, Family Guy, Futurama and The Cleveland Show. I'd say at about 30 you might want to stop watching the smurfs and sponge bob though.

Well, honestly, I can't speak for the entire world's population of women or people over 30. I know that I am a 37 year old female who rarely watches a live action sitcom. I've seen all the plots already and I didn't like them the first time. I like Futurama exceedingly and the Simpsons is good and can be a fine piece of satire but since I have kids I don't watch either much. Family Guy has its moments but it has too many times when it goes too far.

Is the content of those shows the main reason people avoid them?

I just don't watch them because I'm not big on sitcoms in general, although I can sit through them. Also my tolerance for political satire and gratuitous violence is kinda low for me to watch them on a regular basis.
