Personally, and I know someone is going to call me out on this, but the only vampire/werewolf movie I have watched, let alone enjoyed, was Van Helsing. Say what you like, but at least it was entertaining.
Well there was also the Underworld trilogy, which basicly about a war between Vampires and Werewolves, the prequel was particulary cool.

It doesn't sound like anyone could be that dumb, for one you could describe them as two different things, Twilights were just turned into large wolves and kept inteligence which is more akin to a traditional "werewolf" while Wolf Man's turns half man, half wolf, which tecnicly should be called a, (wait for it) Wolf Man. It is just that most modern fiction preferes the idea of s Wolf man, and use the more catchy name of Werewolf.

And if she was serious about saying that him acting like a monster being bad to the twilight kind, the whole point of werewolves is to represent the beast inside man, that is the main artistic point of werewolf movies for a long time.

Actually, the term 'werewolf' reffers to both complete and partial human to wolf transformations. The "werewolves" in Twilight are loosely based on the Native American Skinwalkers, who would don animals hides to commune with the corresponding animal spirit.

The paranormal genre (witch/vampire/wrewolf/ghosts) is by far one of the worst out there in terms of originality.

Every vampire story I've ever come across either deals with mortals slaying vamps or a cross-breed romance between a vamp and a mortal.

I dont care if you're Anne Rice or Stephanie Meyer, some of these writers could at least try their hands at different plots instead of telling the same old crap.

Have you seen the kids movie "The Little Vampire", I am pretty sure it didn't concentrate on slaying, and I sure hope it was not romance.

Plus there is anime such as "Hellsing" which is vampires killing other vampires (or mortals).

Dear God, I've only read a little bit of that, but it was too painful for me to finish.

Seriously, The Wolf Man ripped off Twilight's werewolves? Bullcrap. What's even more insulting is the fact that the fanboy/girl complained how when Lawrence Talbot turned into the Wolf Man, he looked like a mutated freak. Uh, yeah. That's the point. Transforming into a werewolf isn't supposed to be pleasant. Heck, it's not good to be a werewolf period. It's a curse where, when a full moon comes, you turn into a savage beasts that indiscriminately kills anything in your path. It's tragic. Being a werewolf sucks, and it's not the pleasant "pretty boy who turns into a giant fluffy dog with no downsides" crap.

Seriously, the original movie with Lon Chaney Jr had more heart and soul than Twilight ever hopes to have. This is getting stupid.

I dunno. A person can be completely baka and yet still have enough computer literacy to use a spell-check enabled email program. I mean, you see stupid s**t on the Internet all the time, it's not uncommon for someone to be able to use a computer but still be dumb as dirt. Just look at 4-chan.

Besides, thats how IT assistance companies like Geek Squad make all their money - and also why any given IT Help Desk job will DRAIN YOUR SOUL.

But as for the idiocy level of this...

PS: Like the new avatar, Quatermass. I'm actually watching Monster during Monday Night Anime Club weekly. Dr. Tenma for the win, I hope he finally catches that Nazi bastard.

It's possible, certainly - but I've learned in the decade or so I've been online that it's never advisable to underestimate just how stupid people on the internets can be. After all, it doesn't take that much intelligence to punch keys in (basically) the correct order and then click the "send message" button...

... and yes, I was including myself in that statement :)

I can't even reply to this yet, I'm having a little trouble here...

How much of the original post was you, MrSinister, and how much was the Twilight fan? Was everything after the colon part of the fan's complaint, or was some of that your commentary? If the entire thing after the colon was part of the Twilight fan's complaint, then it is absolutely dripping with sarcasm... I really doubt she could be serious. If her words make up only a prtion of the post, could you clarify how much is you and how much is her?

It is a "her" right? There are no male Twilight fans, surely... I'm guessing, I haven't so much as watched a trailer with full attention.

Nothing other than my post here is mine - I was directed to that link by somebody at Comixfan.com :)

The words in the larger font are the Twilight fan's words, while the words in the smaller font are the words of the site's owner. To further clarify, the site's owner's words end with "Here is the e-mail, unedited and untouched (including pictures), which clearly puts Universal Pictures in their place", and then they begin again after the pictures and email link with "Hey Universal, you just got PWNED. That's what you get for making a werewolf movie that clearly rips off Twilight. Everyone knows that Stephenie Meyer created werewolves, and now you hacks have been exposed! Good luck defending yourselves in court!!"

Everything in between is the Twilight fan's original email to Universal, completely unedited. I hope it's not serious... but as I said, it's best never to underestimate just how dumb people on the internets can be. The information superhighway isn't just open to those in top-of-the-range cars, after all... some of its users are trundling along quite obliviously in collapsing old sedans with holes in the chassis and three flat tyres.

Well, the fan's name is listed "Kayla", so I'm guessing she's a girl :) I'm sure there are a few male Twilight fans, though. Somewhere...

Wolfman is a remake of a movie from the 40's with the same name, WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY before the idea of Twilight was even thought of. Or (if I'm not mistaking) before the writer was even born or old enough to write a novel and have it accepted. Try getting your facts straight next time.

I don't think the girl who wrote the letter has a WrongPlanet account.

Helps to read more than just the thread subject. :P

There was a link?!?! Ah....

There was a link.

Lemme 'splain... You can disregard my post now, because I did not know there was a link (which I will now follow and read what everyone else is reading). I don't know about you, but I do not see any difference between the line with the link and the rest of the text, no change in color, size of print, nothing. So I just read the original post as printed and thought that was all there is. Hence my bewilderment (and obliviousness to the fact that she was named Kayla).

A'ight, let's see what dummy had to say. I shall return.

Okay, now that I've caught up...

Little Kayla is an idiot. This is, however, exactly what one expects of a die-hard Twilight fan, especially one who's into Sharkboy. That's who he'll always be to me... I took my kid to Sharkboy and Lavagirl and I do not forgive quickly.

It does bring to mind two similar (I think) statements I've overheard over the years... One was in the music section of a store. "Under Pressure" was playing over the loudspeakers and I heard a girl gripe to her friend that they had totally ripped off Vanilla Ice. Now, I admit, I'd heard "Ice, Ice Baby" before "Under Pressure" but I was not so young and stupid as to think that Queen ripped off Vanilla Ice.

I also once heard a girl complaining about "The Brady Bunch Movie" to a friend. "It was awful! I was all excited when I heard about it but then they were, like, making fun of it!" Uh... Yah! At least she understood they were laughing at them. Her crime was more poor taste than stupidity.

There will never be a lack of rash, uninformed outrage on the part of young, simple creatures. I can only hope that their eagerness will lead them to grow better informed rather than to sit confident in their outrage with others of the same misconception.

Yes, I was somewhat puzzled by the fact that the link was only indicated by it being separated from the "normal" text by a line either side, and not by being underlined or coloured differently. It doesn't really help, does it? :(

It's sad that the dumber die-hards are often the ones with the biggest mouths. I'm sure there are plenty of at least moderately-intelligent fans of the books... they just have the good sense to keep quiet about it, and thus avoid the inevitable mockery :)

Seriously? She actually said that?

...oh dear.

Remember, it is often empty vessels that make the most noise. That being said, I still can't help but shake the feeling that the letter may have been satirical.
